Pride did not join the Tribe until series 3. He was part of the eco-tribe and followed Amber. Him and Amber had something together but she always loved Bray. When he came to the mall he started seeing May but never really loved her. He is now seeing Salene but I think he has some sort of feelings for Amber still. Pride is very economical and does not want the city to get all technical. He was put in to reality space and came out thinking he could fly and almost jumped off a building!

Pride grew up in the city. He did the usual things that city kids do. Went to the movies, hung out with friends, went to school.

But Pride was always fascinated with the way the world worked. He felt that there was a real bond between man and animal and he was the first to get into a fight if he saw kids being mean to a dog or pulling the wings off a butterfly. If you had no respect for the natural world how could you have respect for yourself?

Pride was a good student, he was interested enough to learn as much as he could about the world around him and that embraced all his subjects. Pride had friends but was somewhat of a loner. He liked to hang out with his friends but also enjoyed the peace that can come with being on your own.

When the virus struck, Pride was old enough and wise enough to understand that the world was about to change in a very dramatic way. A quick learner, Pride found out as much as he could about what plants were safe to eat and which ones would help in medicine.

He took great care of his body, knowing that he would have to be strong to get through what was about to happen.

He, like most other kids, watched with horror and disbelief as one by one his parents died and other members of his family were lost to the virus.

Instead of getting angry at what happened, Pride decided that this was enough of a message to mankind to clean their act up and he vowed never to make the same mistakes that led to the dramatic changes in the world.

Pride packed up his few belongings, choosing to travel lightly and to see this disaster as a rebirth for him. He would seek out somewhere peaceful to live and people who were like-minded to spend his time with.

He set off into the countryside on his own, leaving behind any friends or family that he had left and he chose never to talk about his past. He had his memories in his heart and mind and did not want to share these precious gifts with anybody.

Pride met up with others in the countryside who wanted to set up a safe base where they could live away from the danger and despair that they were sure was hitting the cities in the aftermath of the virus.

S3 Pride is first met wearing his coat and whilst it is a very stylish, yet functional, long black coat that suits him immensely there was no need to continuously wear it for so long! After he finally takes the coat off we see a tight top with black hooked sleeves and a pale blue centre with black circles along the left side. There is also a leather strap worn sash-style across his chest that I’m sure is used for something very outdoorsy and practical. He also wears black/grey/white urban combat trousers and chunky black boots- this outfit gives Pride his sleek and strong look. Pride’s hair is the blackest of blacks and we first meet him with a very impressive set of waist-length dredlocks. However, Tally and Andy had the insane idea of chopping them off so Pride now has his hair in these grungy looking twists that could easily grow into dreds if left for long enough. He also keeps to the earthy look with small pieces of twig and string and similar tied in. Camouflage appeared to be a priority when Pride came out of those bushes- with a black line coming from the right of his forehead and down his nose, the whole of the right side of this line was then shaded green. Under his right eye there is a basic branch and leaf design similar to that of Eagle/Amber’s. He is also one of the first Tribe males ever to sport some serious black eyeliner that again gave him the feline look. Unfortunately the green and the eyeliner soon went when he reached the city (kind of a urban camouflage) and we are left with the leaf design and the line.

S4 Pride is eventually allowed a costume change- but only the top, let’s not get carried away here…Anyhow, it’s a smoky blue short-sleeved shirt fastened with four large tarnished silver clasp-button things. Hardly exciting for the poor guy, but the colour does suit him quite well. His long black coat vanishes and he now wears a short blue corduroy jack with a sheepskin-style colour. As I predicted Pride’s hair does grow back into those dreads, these are thinner than last time and have a slightly layered look to them, he also continues to attach the odd leaf or feather too them. His makeup also changes and becomes even more sparse; we only have a strange dark blue swirl-ish symbol in between his right cheekbone and jaw line. But then he does more abstract and war-paint style with two large diagonal lines in the same colour of blue going across his whole face- this suits his character much more and looks great and grungy.
